6th – 12th September 2004

No Birthdays this week – instead I’ve been to a reunion with all my NCT friends (I thought I should probably take my folks along) Something about the party seemed familiar (I’m sure that I’ve sat on a sofa between Nyah and Luke before) and whilst we were all quite patient, the parents got a bit enthusiastic with their cameras when all we wanted to do was to tuck into the biscuits. We managed to humour them with a great photo opportunity later that afternoon.

Rounded off the weekend with a Sunday afternoon at the pub, hope that my parents visit The Anglers again soon Robert, Alexis and I loved the playground.

30th August – 5th September 2004

ANOTHER Birthday party, this time a picnic in Bushy park with my friend Nyah to celebrate her Mum’s special day. Nyah’s showed me how she can walk now – it looks like fun being able to get around so quickly, no wonder she needed to have a rest and a cuddle from her Dad.

23rd – 29th August 2004

I went to a 40th Birthday party this weekend – I’ve been to a couple my Dads last year when I could hear everyone from inside Mum and of course my Godmother Paula’s was the first that I attended on the outside; this one was a first because it’s the first surprise party that I’ve been to. Rachel & Thomas’s Mum - Sue was really surprised 3301, she had no idea that their Dad Charles had been planning it for months and I have no idea how Rachel & Thomas managed to keep the secret – it was so exciting!

I made a new friend – a fine young man called Lewis who also celebrates his birthday in August. I like parties, especially when you get to drive a car

16th – 22nd August 2004

Started the week in style by celebrating my first Birthday. Mum and Dad really surprised me by organising a party in another flat (something to do with the swimming pool in my bedroom and us needing to move?!) I had a great tea with all my friends, jelly biscuits marmite sandwiches & ice cream for Alexis. And then everyone started giving me large lumps of paper; soon got the hang of ripping things open and discovering lots of great things inside. I had the best time ever!

And if that wasn’t enough Dad and I got in the car the following morning and drove to Yorkshire to see all our family there! Mum had to work whilst we drove up but by the time we arrived she was already on a train heading to Leeds so we went to collect her and headed back for a curry with my grandparents, my Yorkshire Godfather and Jill. Had a lovely long weekend just relaxing, Grandpa and I even managed to stay up late and watch TV. Oh and my Grandparents taught me how to clap!

9th – 15th August 2004

Went to a place called TGIs to meet some friends of my folks – they are moving to a place called Kenya which means they have to go on a plane, hope that we can go and visit them one day ‘cause I really liked their children.

Also got to go to the Birthday party of my good friend Rachel, it was lovely  to watch her and all of her friends skating and then afterwards they played with Thomas and I and we got lots of kisses.

2nd – 8th August

Spent some time with my grandparents hooray, Nan Anne came over to see me and we spent some time reading and catching up on gossip, can’t understand why she wears so many clothes in this hot weather.

Ollie Gran and Granpa also came to visit so I showed them a few of my new tricks (flowerpot photo)

26th July – 1st August 2004

Home’s a bit of a mess at the moment (take a look at the deer picture!) so we spent quite a bit of time outside this week – out in the park with the deer and down by the river at the pub.

19th – 25th July 2004

12th- 18th July 2004

Seems that my bedroom has a new feature – on Wednesday when Dad and I went to find my pyjamas we discovered that we have an indoor swimming pool. Dad went to investigate and discovered that the hot water tank for our mansion block had emptied into my room, something to do with the workman on the roof. The good news is that all my toys are dry which is the most important thing, can’t understand why my folks are so concerned about the wet walls and floor and the damp that spreading to the hall. Glad I caught up on my sleep last week as they’ve decided to move me in with them, which means that I can get them up really early to play with all my toys! Thought I’d better get an early night in my travel cot just to make sure I’d wake up at 5.30. **

5th – 11th July 2004

Helped Mum to update my blog – seems if I don’t remind her nothing happens.

28th June- 4th July 2004

Went with Dad too a party this week and caught up with Gordon and Mariko – they fed us some fantastic food and we had a great time. Also spent some time with Oliver – nothing like hanging around and having a good chat even if you are confined by furniture! 3197 3203

21st -  27th June

Quiet week at nursery followed by a busy weekend playing out with Rachel and Thomas. We decided that we should make the most of the warm weather and went out for the day on our bikes. Have to say I did have a little doze before our lunch stop.

14th-  20th June 2004

Had sooo much fun this week, took the folks down to Cornwall to join Oliver’s parents on holiday, Oliver and I really look after them!

For some reason my folks thought I’d like to try ice- cream whatever are they thinking of? Anyway we boys got on with what we know best – how to have a good laugh and keep the folks amused.

Oh and we took the to some big plastic domes called Eden which they really enjoyed.

7th – 13th June 2004

Had quite a few social engagements this week – invited Gus round to play after school and then at the weekend went to help my friend Thomas celebrate his birthday. He chose a great place for his party; I shall make sure that my folks take me to play at snakes and ladders again! Also met Ethan’s grandparents who had lots of stories to tell about when they used to live next door to Grandpa & Ollie Gran. Thirsty work this socialising.

And then of course I attended my first public celebration, my Christening -pics to follow.

31st May – 6th June

Finding that these legs of mine are getting quite strong and I find it quite hard to resist standing up on them as much as possible, not being one to miss an opportunity: I’m keen to practice whenever I can, that is until I find something else to do like drink my bath!

29th-31st May 2004 "BBQ Season"

We went to Nandos for lunch this weekend, what a cool place for kids. Alexis seems to be developing quite a talent for writing and was a little bit put out when anyone distracted her. Once she’d finished writing she tucked into some ice-cream which she really seemed to enjoy. Then we walked home along the river bank.

On Saturday evening we went to Shirley’ s for a barbeque. Alexis and I stayed up for a short time to play with the adults before sharing a bath and then going to bed.

Then on Bank Holiday Monday my folks took me to another barbeque. We drove all the way to Kent and had a great time at Helen's house -she is a great hostess. I couldn’t believe the amount of food that the adults got through. During the afternoon Dad and I went for a swim in Helen’s pool and Alexis and her Mum joined in too.

24th-28th May 2004 "Prison life"

Dad and I are getting into quite a good routine on the days that Mum’s at work. My playpen has been set up next to his desk so that I can keep an eye on him whilst he’s working. This week I brightened up his tea break with one of my many standing and sitting routines, it really makes me smile to watch his reaction.

15th-16th May 2004 ""

We went to visit friends in Harlow on Saturday. I remember meeting Donna & John before but I think it was a long time ago when I was really small. They’re both really fun and I really enjoyed all the cuddles that I got with Donna. We had a lovely day in their garden and I made two new friends, Kelsey who was really fun and who played with me lots and Ted who is like no-one I ever met before.

Quite a busy weekend, on Sunday we went to Nyah’s christening, she was wearing such a pretty dress. My only concern is that I’ve found out that I will be christened next month and its not the water bit that bothers me it’s the fact that I might have to wear a dress.

After Nyah’s christening we went to see Lena and some other friends. We had lunch at a pub and as I’d been so busy I found I was really hungry. It was just as well that Mum had packed two meals as I eat both of them! After lunch Lena joined in my new game of throw toys, well in fact she didn’t throw them she just kept collecting them for me.

8th-9th May 2004 ""

Chestnut Sunday in Bushy Park so we went with our friends to join in the celebrations. I asked Mum & Dad what this was all about and they said something to do with D-Day because of all the army tanks that were in the procession that we watched. I’m not sure though, can’t see how the army would use this vehicle in combat, I think its got more to do with all the blossom on the trees.

After the parade we went to have lunch with Oliver and his folks, we had a really relaxing afternoon.

1st-3rd May 2004 ""

Got together with Gus this bank holiday weekend, we had a really fun time sharing our toys.

24th-25th April 2004 ""

Wow the weather this week has been really great so much so that I have had to wear suntan lotion. I can see why it works, no chance of any sun touching my skin!

12th-16th April 2004 ""

On Wednesday after spending some really great days with my grandparents we packed up the car and drove home. But on the way home Mum & Dad decided to stop in Manchester and told me that we were going to sell our house. I didn’t even know that we had a house in Manchester. Anyway after we went to see it, I can understand why they’ve decided to sell it, the strange thing is that the people who have bought it seem really pleased!. What a journey home to London

9th-12th April 2004 ""

Easter Weekend great fun!

On Good Friday Mum & Dad took me to London to talk along the South Bank and to visit the ‘Tate Modern’, where we had a lovely lunch. Then in the evening we went to stay with my friend Oliver. We didn’t get to see much of each other on Friday evening but we had a really good play the following morning.

Mum & Dad got very excited this morning when I smiled at them and revealed my two bottom teeth which came through last night

On Easter Sunday we drove up to Yorkshire to see all my family there pics to follow!

5th- 8th April 2004 ""

I got a lovely gift from my Nan-Anne this week; do you think it suits me?

29th March -2nd April 2004 ""

This week’s been really great fun, I’ve been going out with Mum and Dad into town and we all went for a picnic on the slopes. Starting to understand that being outside in a ski resort is really fun but only when the sun shining.

My folks also took Nan-Anne and I out for some ‘après-ski’ which I really enjoyed and then we persuaded them to go out skiing the next day, for the whole day. This allowed us to have a very chilled day in the sun with lunch in the sun on the patio.

27th-28th March 2004 ""

This weekend my Nan-Anne arrived from England, which is just as well otherwise I’d have no-one left to play with. I was really disappointed to find out that Alexis Rachel & Thomas have to go back to England before me. Oh well Mum & Dad have promised when we get home we will see them very soon so that we can share all our photographs

This weekend the sun came out; I had a lovely lunch in our garden. I showed Nan-Anne the snowman that Rachel & Thomas had made. I’d hoped to get Mum & Dad to build me a snow teddy but the snow seems to be disappearing, according to my folks its doing something called ’melting’.

22nd-26th March 2004 ""

We moved into our new house. It’s surrounded by white instead of green and it also appears that we will now be living with all our friends. I’m really pleased because it means that I have constant attention from some many different people. My friend Thomas is really good fun, he’s more my size and likes to shout and scream loudly like me!

Mum and Dad keep on getting really excited about the white rain outside which I find a bit strange; when we’re at home they don’t get so excited. But this rain that they keep calling snow, well they can’t seem to get enough of it which is just as well because it’s been snowing since the 2nd day that we arrived. In fact I’m convinced that all the adults have really lost their marbles, it’s really cold outside and yet they keep on going outside and strapping their feet to these plank things and then hurtling off down these slopes, glad that they are leaving me inside.

Then I found out that they were sitting on these contraptions called ‘chair-lifts’ to help them get even higher up the slopes, they even convinced my friend Rachel that it’s a good thing to do. Oh and as if that’s not enough just look at what Rachel’s Dad’s been wearing. He’s really got some attention in the local bar – loads of people have brought him drinks.

But despite all that I’m having a great time, I’m getting some really chilled out time with my folks (and lots of attention from people I’ve never met before; I think that it’s got something to do with my trendy sunglasses.

11th March 2004 ""

Met someone that Dad used to work with his name is Giles and he’s great fun. I have to say that he has very good taste when it comes to girls his girlfriend Juilette is lovely

8th-10th March 2004 ""

At last Mum and Dad took me up to see Ollie Gran,  Grandpa and Chris & Jill in Yorkshire, its been weeks since I’ve seen them. We all went out for dinner and I decided that I should experiment with eating the furniture and seeing what lemon tastes like, it seemed to keep the family entertained

1st-7th March 2004 ""

Seems that Mum and Dad forgot to take the camera out with them this week! Had another swimming lesson this week and went underwater and Mum let go of me – oooo she’s getting a bit confident. Helped Shirley to celebrate her birthday and also went for dinner wit the Henman family.

28th-29th February 2004 ""

This weekend we went to visit Leah at her house in Windsor and then  we took our parents out for lunch they really seemed to enjoy themselves ?? Pics

23rd – 27th February 2004 ""

Mum, Dad Nan Anne and I decided this week that we should take in some culture so we arranged to go to an exhibition at the National Portrait gallery. I enjoyed the lunch at Café Uno video? most as I got all the waitresses to smile at me. 2515?

Decided this week that I should start practicing the letter B, seems that Mum and Dad enjoy copying me, funny that they think they are so grown up and yet at the slightest opportunity they’ll join in my games. I also discovered my knees this week, if I tense my tummy muscles really hard and push my hands down on the floor I can get my stomach off the floor.

21st – 22nd February 2004 ""

We drove to Leicester this weekend to visit Wayne & Denise. Mum and Dad went out with for the evening with the Millingtons and I stayed home with Denises’ Mum Brenda she’s really fun and gave me lots of cuddles video?

16th - 20th February 2004 ""

Went to visit Alex this week Mum and Dad said that he looks really well and then explained that he had been into hospital for an operation hope that he didn’t get into a tight squeeze like I did when I went to hospital last year, it took a few days to recover I can tell you! Anyway he made Mum and Dad some lovely tea and also gave them lots of biscuits so he must be feeling OK.

I must have behaved really well last Sunday because today a delivery arrived for me and it was my very own highchair this should make it easier to join in when my friends come over for lunch or dinner.

15th February 2004 ""

Robert invited me to his birthday party it was great to spend some time lots of older boys. They let me sit in a high chair at the restaurant and play with a big yellow balloon video?

9th-13th February 2004 ""

Quite a quiet week I went to my swimming class on Thursday and also had dinner at ‘Jo Shmo’s with Gus. Mum got together with Alexis mum and Rachel & Thomas’ Mum to talk about packing for skiing; they mentioned snow so I reckon that they’ll be packing lots of cotton wool.

7th-8th February 2004 ""

After a long sunny walk during the day along the river to Richmond, we went for dinner with Belma and Amila and her parents Sabina and Mirza. It was a great evening and I managed to pursued Mum and Dad to stay quite late.

1st February 2004 ""

When I woke up this morning I thought I’d better start practicing for the next time I see Jack and Leo but I haven’t told Mum & Dad just in case they get worried.

Went to Nan Anne’s this afternoon she decided to have another party for me – all my friends were there and I managed to get to see all of them even though Mum insisted that I have a few naps. Dad took lots of pictures for me. Also my friend Thomas helped me with my bottle before he went home for his tea.

31st January 2004 ""

Went to visit Jack and Leo at their house, with Alexis, have to say that her Dads fun he played with us lots. After dinner, Jack & Leos Dad Wout showed us some tricks that they have been practicing hope I’m allowed to do the same when I’m a bit older.

28th – 30th January 2004 ""

Went for my first swimming lesson this week; it was great just like having a bath just so much more fun. All my friends were there and we all did really well despite our mums being frightened of dipping us underwater they really do worry unnecessarily! Have to say I was a bit tired the following day so I managed to persuade Dad that we needed a lie in.

27th January 2004 "Snow?"

Today something happened that I’ve never seen before when Mum and I got back from shopping it got really cold and then lots of white fluffy cotton wool started drifting through the air. Mum said that it was snow but I reckon that someone decided that it’d be funny to throw lots of cotton wool out of their window.

When we got home Mum and Dad arranged for Gus to come over to play – we had lots of fun.

  25th January 2004 "Baboons"

Oliver's Mum is a very clever person who makes things for the telly. We went over to theirs to watch, but I was much more interested in Oliver. Until I nodded off!

24th January 2004 "Shades of Winter"

We all went on a long walk over the park to a pub. It was great -I got to see the whole thing in my new buggy where I face forward and can see everythi... yawn, Zzzzz.

Dad went skiing with 'The Boys'. I hope they let me join them one day.

While he was away, I tried fruit for the first time, which I really enjoyed and discovered that I can suck my big toes! No pictures, 'cos Dad had the camera!

10th - 13th January 2004 "Undoing Christmas"

I'm sure I'll understand this one day, but Mum and Dad just spent three whole days undoing all the stuff they did before Christmas. Everything looks really bare!

Spent some really relaxing days with my Grandfolks, sit back and enjoy the pictures. (more to follow)

4th January 2004 "The second coming of Christ..mas"

Ollie-Gran and Grandpa gave me lots of lovely gifts, I think they liked the mug I made for them. Brian and Margaret dropped in to say hello, too.

2nd - 3rd January 2004 "More wildlife"

Remember that pheasant - it was a fox this time!

And then we found a car in a ditch near Uncle Chris' birthday party. So we invited some nice policemen to join us.

1st January 2004 "New year, solid food!"

They've started me on some thick white stuff like glue. Ok tasting glue, but still glue. Sarah and Rachel brought their Mum and Dad, Paul and Paula with them for brunch. They seemed to like Uncle Chris' present.

24th December 2003 "Christ tingles"

We all went to church today. It was the first time for me and it seemed packed with people holding burning fruit. It was funny listening to my Mum and Dad trying to sing. Alexis and I had a real laugh.  After Church , everybody came back to my house for dinner.

23rd December 2003 "A bit of Agro"

Alexis had her great Aunt Agnes to stay. And great she was, I really got on well with her!

16th - 22nd December 2003 "It's all a blur.."

Mum and Dad seem really busy preparing for something called 'Christmas'. I just hung around under this.. What exactly IS this tree doing in the living room?

12th - 15th December 2003 "Bon Anniversaire, Maman"

My Passport (with crazy photo) arrived just in time for us all to go to France for a long weekend for Mum's birthday. We stayed in a 'Gite' which looked like a house to me. It was all about food, drink and late nights... for the big guys but I just had fun with Alexis, even though we both had colds.

8th - 11th December 2003 "Party Mum"

Mum seems to be getting the hang of Christmas -she's been out twice this week. Fine by me because I get to play with Dad!

6th - 7th December 2003 "Mulling over Christmas"

Caught up with Max, who I hadn't seen since we went on the London eye together. His Mum and Dad, Jo and Andy are a lot of fun.

Mum and Dad were really busy decorating the Christmas tree and preparing mulled wine and cakes and pies and chilli and garlic bread and if this is what Christmas is all about, I think I'm going to enjoy it!

1st - 5th December 2003 "Fitness"

Mum went to keep fit so many times this week which is great because it meant that I got to see all the other kids in the creche.

29th - 30th November 2003 "Celebrations"

Helped Lena celebrate her 3rd Birthday on Saturday. She had lots of presents and all the older people spent ages assembling them. Her Dad is funny.

On Sunday we helped Alexis celebrate thanksgiving. Giving thanks that all the boxes were finally unpacked!

My mate Gus was so impressed that he had to go and have a sleep.

22nd - 28th November 2003 "Bathtime"

I've really taken to bathtime. I love the water and it is great fun splashing around. I went to see Josh, Lily and Nathan and had lots of fun with their mad cat, Angel. Oh, their parents fed mine, too.

It got really cold this week, but that didn't stop us going out for walks with Alexis and Augustin.

17th - 21st November 2003 "Grandparents"

Had a relaxing time with my Grandparents, they're really easy company and looked after me whilst Mum and Dad went out together.

When I got home, I found that my neck muscles are stronger than ever!

Nan Anne looked after me for the evening on Friday so that Mum and Dad could go out to Quaglino's for Collins' Birthday meal.

15th - 16th November 2003 "'Uncle Chris: Hero"

I thought that the Firework celebrations were over until we were on the motorway going to see Grandma Ollie and Grandpa, when there was an almighty bang when a pheasant hit our windscreen! Luckily my Uncle Chris has nerves of steel and we were able to pull over safely.

My 'reluctant' Uncle Chris and I spent some time together. He's not as bad as he makes out!

10th - 14th November 2003 "Packing"

A quiet week, getting ready for our stay with Grandma Ollie and Grandpa.

8th - 9th November 2003 "Food"

Mum and Dad spent most of the weekend eating. Come to think of it, so did I!

3rd - 7th November 2003 "Alexis arrives with a bang"

I concentrated really hard this week on keeping my legs straight and holding up my head when I'm on my tummy. I did need some help from Mum with my balance and I did get a bit tired, but I think it is worth the effort!

I met a really special new friend called Luca. He has made Brett and Patricia very very happy!

Oliver's Mum and Dad came over for dinner and we went to see lots of fireworks going off from Richmond Hill.

Dad and I spent our first evening together whilst Mum went out on something called a "girls' night". Can't say that I remember much other than the inside of my cot.

Alexis' parents finally moved in on Friday, I reckon she's got a lot of toys judging by the number of boxes the lorry delivered from Miami.

Had lots of cuddles from Helen on Friday.

1st -2nd November 2003 "Curry night"

Quiet weekend, Mum and Dad took me to Nyah's house so that could have dinner. Nyah and I slept all night!

28th - 31st October 2003 "Halloween"

Lots of new people to meet when we got home. Nan Anne took me to meet her friends Marianne and Lionel and Mum took me to see her friend Tara and her little one called Iona.

The people I met on Thursday seemed to know all about me, but I only vaguely remember them. They put a picture of me on their notice board.

We went to a Halloween party on Friday. I wasn't scared until Mum drove us home!

24th - 27th October 2003 "Can a duck be drunk?"

I love the English Lakes! I can see why Mum and Dad decided to get married there. I got to stay at my first ever hotel, The Drunken Duck -and what a good start! Lots of good walks with all my rellies and the chance to meet more family and friends.

On one of the walks , we got rained on a lot, so had to spend extra time in some pubs and on another, my buggy went up and down hills, over stiles and rivers!

20th- 23rd October 2003 "Northward bound!"

I had a great time at Alexsis' first birthday party. I think she liked the present that
I bought her. I can't wait for my go -when I can can walk, sit upright and balance.

Mum and Dad started packing again, this time including my Nan-Anne. Yorkshire must be just around the corner cos it only took us four and a half hours -and that was with a stop for fuel (for me, not the car!).

I stayed at Grandpa and Grandma Ollie's house for the first time and had all my grandparents to look after me when Mum and Dad went out for lunch with my reluctant Uncle Chris.

18th - 19th October 2003 "Birthday weekend'"

Everyone is celebrating this weekend! On Saturday, we went to Paula's 40th and had a great time in a fab new pub where Dad liked the beer. And the wine. And the food. Dad then went to Ralph's party in the evening. I don't remember hearing him come home, but the following morning...

...he was a bit of a funny colour for the Brunch at Luke's place. He seemed to recover in the afternoon when Mum served up a cassoulet for Paula and her admirers.,

13th - 17th October 2003 "Chill out week"

We went to Oliver's for dinner (a sleep) and Mum took me for lunch in Hammersmith with all her friends from work.

Dad got the better deal on Friday, as he played golf to celebrate Rob's birthday -whilst I went for my first set of jabs! Ouch!

10th - 12th October 2003 "Out on the town"

A lovely evening in with Brett and Patricia, I wish I was old enough to play with their new toy car.

We had a lovely walk in the Palace gardens on Saturday and then up to Chinatown for Dim Sum. I met Charlotte, who doesn't seem to understand her Mum, Sheena's jokes.

On the way home, we dropped by The Cricketers in Richmond to see Gordon and Mariko to wish Gordon a happy birthday. Derek was playing soft Jazz... and I don't remember much else, but I think met some new friends.

I discovered the joys of bathtime with my Dad!

6th - 9th October 2003 "Quiet times"

Finally, a bit of peace and quiet. Except for the ten babies and Mums around here for a coffee morning and a dinner with Nick and Mark (a lovely couple).

My Nan-Anne came over to see me. I still have to keep my eye on her...

3rd - 5th October 2003 "Surfin', Kitin', buggyin'"

They said "Three hours to Devon, easy" More like seven! Two hours faffing around, packing, two feeds on the way (yes, only TWO) and then a blunder across Exmoor on near vertical terrain in pitch blackness. And then, they couldn't find the Hotel! Funny how they managed to find a curry house, though!

It was worth it, though, because I had my first day on the beach (with Oliver, Alexis and Alice) and got to see my Dad kite-buggying. Shame about the hole in his leg! Also, Mum and Caroline took Oliver and me for a very civilised cream tea whilst the Dads were surfing. We expressed our appreciation by making lots of noise.. and we're not talking crying! If the Mums were embarrassed, they hid it well through their laughter.

29th September - 2nd October 2003 "Very sociable baby"

Mum and Dad had lots of dinner parties this week, at Paula's one night and Shirley's the next, where I met Robert for the first time. He might be a bit smaller than all the grown ups but he's already forgotten how to talk my language!

The following evening, Oliver brought his folks around for dinner so that they could plan our surfing weekend.

Dad seemed quite quiet on Wednesday morning, he said it was an overhang after his last day at in the office and had nothing to do with the Tequila.

Mum took me to the first massage class where she will be learning how to help me chill out. Like I need it!

27th & 28th September 2003 "Special guest feeder"

Mum and Dad seemed to be eating lots this weekend, we went to an oriental restaurant on Saturday (I slept through it) and to Charles and Sue for a roast dinner on Sunday. We got to stay over and my friend Rachel gave me my tea.

22nd-26th September 2003 "Offices"

Mum and Dad took me to meet people at Disney and British Airways. There were some really fun people to play with but I don't think that I want to spend every day in one of those places, my play-gym is much more fun!

21st September 2003 "Party on, Nan Anne!"

Nan Anne totally excelled herself today. I invited people from all over the place to descend on her house and she worked it like a professional party maker. There was swimming in the water feature, bbq food, salads, a mean chilli, lights, gazebo, swingball and loads to drink (including that famous forgotten case of beer in the freezer -oops!)

And of course, I got loads of cuddles. Check out the pictures here.

20th September 2003 "Busiest day yet"

Visitors galore today. We started the day by welcoming Sabina, Amila and Mirza (who is camera shy). They were all delightful and made a real fuss of me.

Then we welcomed Sarah, Finn and Steve (both uncharacteristically camera shy today), who also made a real fuss of me and prepared lunch for Mum and Dad. That popping sound again...

I was still up for more guests, so how pleased I was to see Niah, with Kay and Simon for dinner! They were lovely company, even if Simon was a little wobbly towards the end...

16th - 19th September 2003 "First trip to the curry house"

Beautiful warm sunny days. Walks in the park with Niah and Kay, lazy drinks by the river and a curry at Monty's in Kingston -they were really pleased to see me so I kept very quiet and slept.

Dad's friend Niss came to dinner. He last met me when I was just a bump.

Also, Mum and Dad were knocked over this week when I first decided to smile at them. I think I'll be able to use this to my advantage...

15th September 2003 "Fat Boy Slim"

Lynn the health visitor came to see me again today. Mum was dreading this, because she thought I was still a bit lean. No Way! I'm half a pound heavier than a week ago -looks like that week at home just eating did the trick.

14th September 2003 "Lazy late summer Sunday"

We all had breakfast on the balcony today, it was so warm. I didn't see the attraction myself, so I had a little snooze on Dad's knee. After breakfast, my Mum's friend Gillian came to give me a cuddle. She's really friendly and has invited me to her office very soon.

We went walking in the park and met my Auntie Phyllis' friend Claudia, who is from America.

13th September 2003 "Who can shout the loudest?"

I got a very unusual present today. Friends of my Mum gave me a start chart... and what a coincidence -there's one on there with the same name as me! Thank you Jo, Tacita, Gillian, Emily, Laura, Laura, Peter, Sarah and James.

My friend Alexis came for dinner and we had a competition to see who could shout the loudest and stay awake the longest. I lost on both counts. More practise needed there, I think.

9th - 12th September 2003 "Fattening up"

Mum said we had to stay at home a lot this week, I think this was because they were worried about my weight. They decided to feed me lots -fine by me! We just had a couple of visitors, my Dad's friend Martyn, who's got a lovely big comfortable Jag that I half remember and my Auntie Shirley, who is going to New Zealand to see her Mum.

I have learnt to to say 'Cooo!'. You should see their faces when I say it, they look really goofy!

Mum and Dad watched a film about an alien. They keep on calling me 'ET' now. Parents can be so hurtful!

8th September 2003 "Who won the sweepstake?"

My reluctant Uncle Chris has scored the entries to the sweep on my birthday, weight and sex. It turns out that we have two winners, Alex P and Phyllis. This gives them each £22.50 to give to their nominated Charity. I'll get Mum and Dad to find out so that I can write about them here.

Finally got around to updating these pages.

7th September 2003 "Going for a spin"

Started the day with a Champagne private capsule on the London Eye, well stocked with new friends, all courtesy of my uncle Charles. The weather was fine and if I'd been awake, the views would have been magnificent!

Then after lunch, off to Trafalgar Square to sleep through Russell's trapeze performance, which by all accounts was excellent. He was part of a very worthy cause highlighting disabled rights.

6th September 2003 "Double party day"

After a relaxing week, there's nothing better than overdoing it!

First I met a whole bunch of very jolly (they'd already been to the pub) people that Mum used to work with, then to Paula and Kjell's place for dinner with Keith and Sylvia -very civilised

1st - 5th September 2003 "Scream loudly, get taken for a walk"

Dad only had one day off work this week. He looks really sad and tired. But we still managed a long walk in the park and a drink outside the pub. We also went to see my Nan and by the taste of the milk later, that chilli was pretty spicy!

By Friday, Dad looked a lot happier. Something to do with handing in his notice, whatever that means?

I'm trying to stay awake all day now, although Mum doesn't seem like it! I find that the louder I scream, the more walks I'm taken on! And a thing called a bottle has appeared, it gives me a whole Mumful in about five minutes flat and means that Dad can have a go at feeding me while Mum sleeps for a change!

31st August 2003 "An audience with..."

Continued my social engagements this time receiving visitors in my own living room. Made friends with someone who is a bit bigger than me called Lena(Helen) and someone even bigger called Leah.  More presents, more champagne. I'm going to be so busy with all these thank-you letters!

30th August 2003 "Barbeque"

Went to my first house warming party - the confusing part was that all the guests were in the garden huddled around something called a barbeque! I preferred it inside so I stayed in the living room and received visitors. Somebody called Alex celebrated his birthday. too.

Shirley has unpacked nearly all the boxes that were there last week and the place looks like a home now. My friends Rachel and Thomas were also at the party and they both stroked my head lots which was so nice and made me feel really sleepy.

29th August 2003 "Does my bum look big in these pampers?"

Bit tired after last night, so plenty of sleep. Health visitor came to meet me. She told Mum stuff I already knew: I'm putting on weight (does my bum look big in these pampers?), I've grown a centimetre in length, my sight and hearing check out and stuff about chairs or stools or something?

Enjoyed my relaxing bath and then decided to stay awake all night but only made it until 1 o'clock.

28th August 2003 "Society"

Would you believe another coffee morning? Met a new arrival called Luke. His Mum was really pleased and he told me that he can projectile poo, now there's a role model!

Went to a party in West Ken (dahling!) in the evening to welcome Paula (different one -so confusing) to the UK from somewhere called Colombia where they make talcum powder, apparently. Nobody there my size, so I pretended to be asleep. Until I called a taxi (Mum and Dad) to take me home.

27th August 2003 "Home alone"

Mum was by herself today, because Dad had to go to work. I Don't know why he does that, it sounds dull. When I realised that Mum was home alone, I decided to make a special effort to stay awake and make a big noise to keep her company. She didn't seem altogether pleased. Some people!

26th August 2003 "We're everywhere"

I met up with all the other little newcomers today. Eight babies in my front garden(Bushy Park to you) all fast asleep just like me. We'd all been fed before coming out which meant that we all started howling at the same time.. and he-hee, more milk for us all! Got some strange looks from the passers-by. Oi! Never seen anyone eat before?

25th August 2003 "Picnic by the brown"

More excitement, we had a picnic at a place called Richmond Green. Looked brown to me. We got back to the car and I decided to practice my new cry: I carry on through the 'sounds like a donkey' cry and make a noise like a hyena, and I don't mean laughing.

Paula came by in the evening and Dad cooked them all steak. I think I'll stick to the milk for now.

24th August 2003 "Weeeeeeeeee"

A restful day. Midwife dropped in to weigh me and take some blood -OUCH! So I wee-ed all over her!

  23rd August 2003 "Chill out"

A really chilled day in today. Phyllis and Collins came by in the evening and cooked the folks some dinner. I heard Dad try to book them every night next week...

22nd August 2003 "planes, trains, car seats and slings"

We ventured out again today, but this time, after the car seat came this sling attached to Dad. So off we went shopping and I think we'll be doing this again, because Dad had all these shop assistants running around him in the cosmetics department. I think he felt like a bit of a celeb, but we all know who they were really looking at, don't we.

Later, we went to see Shirley at her nice new house. That popping sound seems to be following me around!

21st August 2003 "Another coffee morning"

After lots of cuddles, Ollie and Grandpa said bye-bye before heading back up north. Phyllis and Alexis came by again and then off we went to another coffee morning which turned into a long lazy lunch. I met a new friend called Niah, who has the same taste in car seats, so I think we'll get along just fine.

Back home and more visitors. Charles and Sue and two new little friends called Rachel and Thomas -they're cool and can understand me. More presents and more corks popping. They cooked dinner for my Ma and Pa and they also helped Dad with my first bath at home, which I rather liked.

  20th August 2003 "Off-roading"

Time for a picnic in the park. I've been looking forward to trying out my three-wheel off-road buggy. We set out from the flat with Ollie and Grandpa and got to the gate on the bumpy driveway and... that's the last I remember -I think I had a snooze. Next thing I knew it was the car seat again and off to see the 'Great Godmother' (GG for short) and Great Aunt Irene. I got lots of cuddles before going home for a chilled evening in.

  19th August 2003 "More Grandparents"

Another midwife, then a coffee morning, in that car seat again. I met some other people my size, then home to chill before some more grandparents arrived, Ollie and Grandpa. They're cool, cos they cooked dinner for my folks so that they could relax. More popping sounds (and pooping sounds).

  18th August 2003 "Party on!"

People! Lots of people. Phyllis came straight from Miami to see me with her folks and a small person called Alexis who could speak my language -why don't these big people understand? Helen and Jeanne and a midwife came to meet me. All these visits make me want to party all night. Mum and dad won't get ANY sleep tonight!

  17th August 2003 "I wasn't born yesterday.. Oh yes I was!"

They finally let us leave the Hospital at 4pm. I wonder what home looks like? I've heard it talked about plenty -I know they've been busy preparing it for me over the recent weeks. This is a strange contraption -I've been strapped into a 'car seat' by Dad. I makes me feel... I think I'll have a snooze.

Home now, just been woken up by a Pop! Looks like Mum and Dad are drinking Champagne. Where's mine? I expect it'll filter through shortly!

The front door keeps on buzzing. Who are all these people arriving? I recognise the voices. Paula, Kjell, Sara, Alex, Shirley, George and a grandparent called 'Nan Anne'. More popping and look! Presents! For me! I think I'll have a snooze.

Wriggler's blog
16th August 2003 "Today I'm mostly being born"

Ok, I've had about enough of this. About nine this morning, Mum doubled up with cramps and things seemed to tighten up all around me. I've got my head in this space here, but I'm getting all sorts of pressure from behind. If it carries on like this, I'm leaving!

12:00 time to go to the hospital!

13:00 Mum's on the gas and air. I think she's drunk.

14:30 Ouch! She's really started to push me now. But I'm not ready to leave just yet. I've not packed and this place is in such a mess..

15:30 I can feel them tickling the top of my head again. It even feels a bit draughty up there. Down there. Out there...whatever!

16:30 I can hear lots of voices now. Feels like Mum's noticed them sounding concerned, cos she's pushing like mad now. I'll hang on a bit longer and then maybe help her in a while.

17:20 I'm ready to leave now, I've moved towards the nearest available exit but something's blocking the way. Is that a pair of scissors I that can hear?

17:29 I just heard a snip and whee! I'm on my way, I'm up to my nose in air.. one more push from Mum and someone's got hold of me by the head and they're pulling, ooh it's cold! But wow, I can move.. and breathe.. This is going to be fun! Hey! Dad! Don't cut that cord!

17:30 They say I'm a bit blue and floppy, but this mask is quite fetching and they're giving me a massage! I like this! I think I'll see how much noise I can make.. WAAAAAAHHH!!!!

17:42 They seem to like all the racket, Mum and Dad are looking very happy, I'm a 'boy', apparently. I expect I'll get to find out what that means later. They're going to call me Jacob, I'm ok with that, and what's this? Tastes like... milk! Hmmm seems to be plenty. I think I'll have a snooze.

17:55 I weigh 7lb 13.5oz and I'm 53cm. Whassat?

19:00 Now we've got a very cosy room all to ourselves and all those other people have left. Mum and Dad are munching sandwiches and every time I look up they're beaming down at me as though they're the ones who have done all the work. I think I'll have a snooze.

20:00 Bit peckish. Where's that milk? Oh good, there seems to be plenty -Yum! I think I'll have a snooze.

Midnight: Looks like Dad's leaving. They won't let him stay -meanies! Or maybe he's seen the breakfast menu..

I think I'll have a snooze.

  15th August 2003

Mum's still got loads of energy, but I'm feeling the squeeze from these 'Branston Pickle' practice contractions. One minute her tum's all squidgy and I can kick around like crazy and the next the whole thing tightens up and I  can barely move. It used to be so easy, but now I'm sure she's trying to get me out of here!

  14th August 2003

I took them to the hospital today for a check-up. I was listening really carefully in case they were talking about getting me out of my warm, comfortable home when suddenly somebody was tickling me on the top of my head! It made my toes curl and wiggle! Then a really pleased sounding voice said something about Mum being diluted and her service is thinning, or something. They seem to be plotting now for pulling me out on the 20th. Maybe I should think about making my own way...

  13th August 2003

I took Mum shopping today, but she was a bit pooped by midday, so we had a little nap. Her tum keeps on tightening up and putting the squeeze on me a bit. I've found that there's a bit more room if I put my head into this big space down here.

  12th August 2003

They were much quieter today, but I wasn't. I've found a rib to kick that really makes Mum flinch. This was meant to be my due date until the midwives changed their minds. I think that Dad was hoping that I'd appear today, his birthday. Ha! I've started a lifetime of defiance..

  11th August 2003

Spent the day teasing Mum and Dad that I was going to pop out at any moment. Mum's feet are getting really big now and it's all my doing -he he!

10th August 2003

Hottest day ever! There was a terrible din going on all afternoon today. People out there kept on shouting happy 40th and lots of them poked at me. I'm staying in here! My Uncle Chris even started a sweepstake on when I will be born. All proceeds to the winner's chosen charity -there's £45 in the pot!

How old is my Dad? People who surprised Dad that I can't wait to meet

7th August 2003

Mum and Dad took me to the hospital. They were surprised to find that I'm due today and not next week as they'd thought. Of course, I know better!

How big is my mum?

27th July 2003

That was lucky for them... the bathroom's finished before I'm born!

bathroom before and after

19th July 2003

Mum and Dad bought my car seat today. I hope it fits in Dad's car cos Mum's car's boring!

14th July 2003

A big green and white van arrived today with lots of boxes in it for me. Dad's got his work cut out putting together my cot and buggy.

  12th July 2003
